|
|
Hello,
I use Beta 3.0.4 and reinstall Full version again but NZB linking do not work.
If I make a d-click on a NZB-file NewsMan do not start or a running NewsMan do not show the import dialog with this NZB-file. Same on downloading with Firefox. It shows me 'Open with NewsMan at Firefox download dialog but it do not work at all.
Thanks for help! |

Check your registry for the following key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\NZBfile
In this key, you should find:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\NZBfile\shell\open\command
with a value of:
(Default) <path to Newsman>\Newsman.exe "%1"
If this key is missing, or pointing to an invalid location, you'll need to open the NZB import dialog and click the "Always open..." button. If you are running Vista/Win 7, make sure you run Newsman as an administrator when you do this.
If the key is there, then disappears again, you have a security program that is wiping out the key.

The link function do not work at all. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Often at Firefox I must open a nzb-file two times to get it in NewsMan.
The key at the registry are there and I work with admin rights but it do not work with NewsMan.
Any hint?

No. This is a Windows function, not Newsman. The registry key basically tells Windows to open NZB files with Newsman Pro. If the key is there, then there is likely some security program that is blocking Windows from passing the NZB files to Newsman.

Okay, but why only NM do not work with links and all my other software start up when open a dokument or datafile?
I close all security software without any changes.

I can't answer that. You would have to trace what Windows is doing when you double-click the NZB file. There are tools available for this such as Sysinternals suite (it's free). I can say that it does work reliably on all of the machines I've tried it on using WinXP through Win7.
In a previous post, you said that you had it working, so something must have changed?

It works fine, so something about your system is not correct. What happens when you double-click on a downloaded NZB file? You should at least get something happening, even if it is only a Windows requester asking what is should associate the NZB file with.
You haven't even said what version of Windows you are using, or what error messages you get. |

Sometimes it works and sometimes it do not work and without any message. I click the file and nothing happens and NewsMan do not open the import dialog. Sometimes I try it x times and then NewsMan comes up with the dialog.
