This seems to work especially well because the Automation Rule has more priority than running the Scheduler against a filter. Just occurred to me after looking at the brief icon appearance of the scheduler when I knew there were 20,000 or more old in the database, and nothing went to trash. When run from an Automation rule with the same criteria, it deleted those that were missed by the Scheduler, which does not continue wait or run after it's initial attempt.
