|
|
I am new to Newsman and am overwhelmed by the multitude of options, have been using OE6 for many years.
Downloaded headers are not grouped, they appear in a strict chronological order.
How can I hide replies under an OP, to be opened by clicking the little square?
ETA: Oops, think I found it - just click on the leftmost column header.
ETA 2: But how can I have both thread grouping and chronological sorting at the same time? Seems to me selecting one of them removes the other? |

Sorting by "Thread" (which is what the first column does) sorts each message and all replies in order of the parent message. In Settings, you can change this to sort in order of the most recent reply. All replies are sorted by their "References" order; in the order that replies were made. This is not date/time based but rather based on the order of each message's reference.
Not sure beyond this what you are asking. Perhaps you can clarify your issue?

I think I can clarify that. I would like to have it like I am used to. I am an old dog.
I subscribe to only one newsgroup and am the only user in my system.
I am used to having threads sorted by the date of the opening post, newest at the top. On opening a thread the reply headers are displayed, but not in any particular order as far as I can tell.
Thus I'll always have the newest single messsages or threads at the top of the window. |
