I've been using Multi-Rename which was one of those PC Magazine projects years ago. It's pretty good at what it does, and free

Thanks guys, I've been suffering for the lack of a good renamer. I'd been using, as weird as it sounds, Ulead PhotoExplorer because it has a decent renaming function, but you have to wait for it to load the folder which can take a few minutes if you have thousands of files in one folder.
This flexible renamer looks awesome, although they ought to get some screenshots without all the japanese characters making it look weird. |

Flexible Renamer is the be all, end all. A lot of people don't know how powerful this program really is. If there is a renaming scheme you can't figure out, click on the drop down menu and send an email to the programmer. I did it once and the information he sent back shed new light on the program. If you have an questions, ask me and I'll be glad to help.
I even mentioned to him that I would pay for the software and he shrugged it off and just thanked me for using it and for the compliments. _________________ Core 2 Duo E6800, 8gb of PC6400, 4 320gb WD SATA HD's, MSI P965 Platinum, Plextor DVDR/RW 760A, Plextor Premium, ATI X1950XT 256mb PCI-E16, Antec P180B Case, Antec True Power Trio 650w Power Supply |

I am using THE Rename. It is very powerful but not very user friendly; it takes time to get used to. How would you compare both tools. Did you loose any meaningful features by switching?
