i just trashed the THIRD lx700 set. it is a wireless keyboard/mouse combo.

in ALL 3 cases the keyboard stopped working. just out of the blue.
batteries were fresh, receiver not even a meter away from keyboard. without apparent reason, the keyboard would not function. re-connect, re-boot - nothing helped.

i bought the three units in different areas of this planet and at different times (usa, new zealand and holland), so it is very unlikely that i caught units of the same bad batch or something.
they seem to work fine for a while but then all of a sudden keyboard gets moody and finally stops working altogether.

pity, cause i really liked the look and feel of the keyboard.
btw, the mouse worked fine in all cases.

i just checked the logitech forum and many people report similar problems, not only with the lx700 set.

i can only conclude that the lx700 and most - if not all - other logitech wireless sets are JUNK!

i will not buy logitech again and i can only seriously advize people to not buy that trash.

That's disappointing to hear. I used to use Logitech desktop sets without any of these problems, but that was a few years back. I've been using Microsoft wireless desktop sets (both "standard" (RF) wireless and BlueTooth) for some time now and never have a connectivity problem with them.

One thing I have noticed is that my BlueTooth mouse is significantly worse than my RF mouse. By this I mean that it's less responsive (slower to react) and doesn't move across the screen in as smooth a manner as the RF mouse. In fact it's a considerable difference. I can only assume that this is down to the BlueTooth stack in the PC (I'm running WinXP-SP2).

I was going to try a Logitech BlueTooth desktop set and see if that had the same issue, but I think I'll not bother now!
