Is there a way to search for a phrase? I tried putting the two word phrase I wanted in quotes, but that didn't do it. If I just check "All words" I get lots of hits, but they are used in widely separate contexts.

I don't think this version of PHPBB supports searching for phrases. You can only search for:

* word AND word
* word OR word
* word NOT word
