Hello

I am new to Newsman Pro but have been using Usenet for several years. I previously had a Mac computer and so was using a newsreader which only works on OSX.

I've got Newsman set up now and have happily downloaded files but I cannot work out how to post multiple files. I assumed this would be straightforward but I cannot find how to do it. I am not too smart at this type of thing so I assume I am doing something wrong - I hope so. Any help will be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Dave

Newsman Pro's posting capabilities are somewhat limited and really only for casual posting. To upload multiple files to a Usenet server, you should take a look at using Powerpost. It is free and open-source and is written just for this purpose.

You should also check out JbinUp, which is much more up to date and has more functionality.

Many thanks for your help. As ever, quick, straightforwrd and directly helpful - I appreciate it very much. Well, I downloaded Powerpost and with a little bit of help from Google found it easy enough to use and efficient.

I've just now tried downloading JbinUp. Unfortunately it's telling me I need to get some new Java software before it will work. I'm kind of reluctant to do this as I've just bought this computer and was hoping it would come with the latest versions of Java. Shouldn't it? Anyway thanks very much for the suggestion for now I'll stick with Powerpost.

Java is updated all the time, and used for all sorts of different things. There's no problem with updating it, but I wouldn't expect it to be installed on a new computer just because it's a new computer. IIRC, it's not part of a default Windows installation.
