Placement of files
By default, Newsman Pro places files in the following locations:

• Executable and support files - Program Files\Newsman Pro
• Configuration Settings - Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Newsman Pro
• Database - For ADS users, the database will be located in a subfolder named "Data" where the configuration settings are stored. MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server users will have the database located using the individual settings for each product.
• Downloads - My Documents\Newsman Pro

Many of the specific folder locations can be overridden directly in Settings - Folders.

You can merge the "Executable and support files" and "Configuration Settings" into a single folder if desired. Newsman Pro determines how you have your folders setup based on where it find the file "NMP.INI". If it finds this file in the same folder as the executable, it assumes that all other files and folders are in the same location, except as otherwise specified in Settings.

Running multiple instances
MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server users can run multiple instances of Newsman Pro at the same time. Each instance must have its own database. To configure Newsman Pro for this, you must merge the "Executable" and "Configuration" folders into a single folder. The file "DATABASE.INI" tells each Newsman Pro instance which database to use. Each instance should be in its own folder that contains all files and folders, except for "Downloads".

When using a multi-instance setup, simply create shortcut to the executable in each instance's folder. You will be warned that you are running multiple instances whenever you start Newsman Pro. You can disable this warning by adding -NoMutexWarning to your shortcut.
