Global Searches

Newsman Pro provides two utilities to help you find headers or articles in your database. Both of these utilities search your entire database, across all Workgroups.

Global Header Search
Using this feature, you can locate headers that match your search criteria, no matter what Workgroup they belong to. Go to the "Tools" menu from the program's main menu and select "Global Header Search".


Only matching headers are retrieved from the database and loaded into the message list. Use the "Load" and "Save" icons at the top of the window to save your search criteria for reuse at any time. When you are ready to return to a Workgroup or newsgroup, simply double-click the group in the Navigator and the message list will be reloaded. (Note: Only MySQL supports the use of Regular Expressions for global searches).



Global Body Search
This feature searches the body text of all messages that you have retrieved for the word or phrase you specify. From the "Tools" menu, select "Global Body Search", enter the word or phrase to find and click "OK".
