You can use folders for a variety of purposes. Here are some examples:
- Long-term storage for articles of interest.
- Create a “Queued” folder and move messages that you have added to the download Queue. This can be helpful when you are downloading many messages from multiple workgroups.
- Create a folder to hold messages that you might want to download, but you aren’t sure yet that you want them.
Using Newsman Pro's built-in
Scheduler, you can create a task to automatically Queue a set amount from one of these folders on a periodic basis. This can be useful in keeping the Queue from growing so large that it begins to impact on your download speeds.
Creating a new folder
Right-click on the "Saved Items" object in the Navigator or from the
Workgroups view...
Enter the name for the new folder and click "OK".
Moving messages to a folder
Select the messages to be moved and use the "Move to..." item on the context menu...
You can set a default folder to be used for each Workgroup or simply have a single folder that is used globally. Here is the "Move to..." dialog:
- New - Create a new folder
- Remove - Deletes a folder
- Global Default - Sets the selected folder as the global default folder
- Workgroup Default - Sets the selected folder as the default folder for the current Workgroup
- Use Global - Resets the current Workgroup default folder to the global default folder
Viewing messages in a folder
