System Priority

print

Newsman Pro has a built in facility for setting the application's system priority.

By default, Newsman Pro uses the "Normal Priority" setting. All threads spawned by Newsman Pro run at lower priority levels. When you raise or lower the program's priority level, all threads are adjusted relative to your new setting.

Raising the priority level forces Windows to give more CPU time to the application while lowering the priority level does just the opposite. If you need to minimize the impact Newsman has on your system, you can lower the priority level accordingly. You should take care when adjusting these settings as it is possible that too low of a priority level will cause some of Newsman's child threads to stall. Conversely, setting the priority too high can make your system otherwise unusable.
